Consultations

In finding solutions to dental problems or issues, it is vital to diagnose the cause accurately.

Commonly experienced symptoms such as bleeding gums, sensitive teeth or pain on any side of the face often indicate an underlying dental issue that can be readily addressed once it’s cause is found.

We at Sikka Dental Clinic use a combination of established principles of Western medicine alongside the newest advances in the sphere of evidence based dentistry to assist our patients get to the root of their problems.

Dental X-Rays

Intra-oral X-rays when taken with proper technique, angulation and exposure yield vital diagnostic information that can be crucial in establishing the correct diagnosis of a case.

Very often, substandard or poorly exposed X-rays can hamper diagnostic efforts instead of helping them.

This is why, we at Sikka Dental Clinic use state-of-the-art digital X-ray equipment and clinical expertise to obtain flawless X-rays.

Further, our focus is to use the latest technology to reduce patients’ exposure to radiation while not compromising the quality of the image obtained.

Fillings

Dental restorations (fillings) are an important aspect of dental services offered at Sikka Dental Clinic. We intend to provide fillings that restore our patients’ comfort.

Indeed, through the use of modern materials and conservative practices, our aim is to protect teeth from further decay while preserving all natural and uninfected tooth substance.

The vast array of restorative materials available are also carefully selected so as to use them in conditions most suited to reinstate proper form and function.

Root Canals

At Sikka Dental Clinic, we believe in maintaining the vitality of the tooth. Indeed, root canal treatment is performed when no avenues to sustain teeth vitality exist.

Availing the benefits of modern rotary endodontic technology, we aim to provide tooth disinfection and freedom from pain in a time bound manner.

Tooth Removal

In specific cases, teeth can decay well beyond the scope of restorative therapy. In such cases, it is prudent to change the starting point of therapy.

At Sikka Dental Clinic, we pride ourselves in extraction procedures that are atraumatic and comfortable to the extent possible.

Upon removal, we will work with you to find the prosthetic solution to restore oral form and function that suits you best.

Veneers

Unaesthetically positioned or discolored teeth can be corrected at Sikka Dental Clinic within a few appointments.

Our smile design team can create for you the smile that you have always wanted using materials such as EMAX porcelain that are designed to withstand the rigors of a regular diet.

Whitening

Teeth have colors that range from the bluish grey of enamel to the more yellowish white of dentin. Relative changes in the thickness and colors of these constituent layers can have a bearing on the color of the tooth as a whole.

In cases where the yellowish hue is more pronounced and the patient is desirous of “whiter” teeth, whitening/bleaching is an effective solution. In appropriate cases, these treatments can produce teeth that appear 4-5 shades lighter without appreciable discomfort.

Crowns

In cases where tooth structure has been lost due to reasons such as trauma or decay, crowns are used to restore normal tooth form and function.

These are made of a variety of materials ranging from metal alloy to metal free materials such as zirconium and porcelain. The choice of material largely depends on the type of tooth that is being restored as well as the visibility of the tooth in the mouth. At Sikka Dental Clinic, we like to share these options with a patient so they may choose a crown that suits them best.

Bridges

Tooth loss is a condition that can commonly occur due to an array of factors including advanced gum disease, severely decayed teeth that cannot be saved therapeutically, hereditary factors or trauma among others.

In these cases, fixed prosthetic treatments aiming to replace these missing teeth are advised. Some of these cases may not be good candidates for receiving implants either due to patient preference or for reasons pertaining to the health of the patient. It is in these patients that a tooth “bridge” consisting of crowns covering adjacent teeth linked by an artificial tooth is advised.

These are available in a variety of materials and shades to match the existing teeth and restore proper form and function as per the preference of the patient.

Gum Treatment

Gum health is an important part of overall oral health. In typical cases with poor oral hygiene , it is a slow process that continues over decades manifesting symptoms after the age of 35. Symptoms range from receding gums, foul odor and bleeding gums to loose teeth and mild pain.

Treatment of the disease normally involves removal of bacteria accumulated on deposits around the teeth and beneath the gums and the accretions that harbor them. Scope and duration of therapy is dependent on the severity of the disease process and the amount of destruction of the tooth’s attachment apparatus that has already occurred.

Pediatric Dentistry

We at Sikka Dental Clinic are firm believers in the old adage – children are not miniature adults. Treatment for kids involves the use of bespoke techniques and approaches that aid in performing procedures without trauma and discomfort to the child on the chair.

These include the use of non threatening words to describe the tools and procedures in dentistry while sticking to a tell-show-do method to put the child at ease.

Indeed, positive experiences at a young age relating to dentistry lead to less fear of the same later in life. This in turn guarantees better standards of oral health in the child’s mouth with lesser incidence of decay and preventable oral problems.

Therapy can also be preventative as opposed to being corrective so as to spare the child any pain and discomfort that may be caused by these diseases.

Dentures

In cases where all teeth have been lost in a jaw and implant therapy is not possible or advisable, dentures are the treatment of choice to restore esthetics, function and confidence.

These must be worn as advised and with proper care and maintenance, contribute to the protection of facial form and chewing abilities.

Braces

Dental braces are wire based appliances that are used to straighten crowded and uneven teeth or jaws. The aim of dental braces is to align your teeth and jaws to create an even invite and a nice smile.

Braces are made up of brackets, orthodontic bands, spacers, arch wires and ties that can fasten the arch wire to the brackets. If your teeth are crooked or misaligned you can benefit from teeth braces or retainers.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are artificial tooth roots used to support a restoration for a missing tooth or teeth. Dental implants provide people with the strength and ability required to eat all the food they love without struggling to chew.

Additionally they help to stimulate and maintain jaw bone preventing bone loss and helping to support facial features.

Wisdom Tooth Removal

An impacted wisdom tooth can damage neighboring teeth or become infected. Infection of the gums around wisdom teeth is called pericoronitis. Having your wisdom tooth examined regularly and removed if necessary can prevent these diseases.

Invisible Aligners

Invisible aligners can align teeth without the use of metal or ceramic braces. They are a series of custom made clear trays that cover your teeth and gently pull them into proper positions overtime.

At Sikka Dental Clinic we use state of the art scanning equipment so as to get error-free Invisible Aligners for our patients. Dr. Khushboo (Orthodontist) is a Gold Level Invisalign certified provider.

Orthodontic Retention

Proper orthodontic retention is vital to maintain the results achieved with orthodontic therapy (braces or invisible aligners). Failure to do so may often result in unwanted movements of teeth and subsequent worsening of esthetics. Fixed and removable retainers assist in preventing this from happening.

Cleaning

Maintenance of optimum oral health can rarely be achieved without good oral hygiene. Amongst the multitude of options available the American Dental Association has stressed on proper brushing for 2-3 minutes using circular strokes while reaching all tooth surfaces twice a day as the prime method to maintain good oral hygiene. Allied with flossing once daily, optimum oral hygiene should be well within your grasp.

It is universally recognized that regular scaling and polishing are the ideal adjunct to good oral hygiene measures at home. At Sikka Dental Clinic, we believe that this should be a comfortable and pleasant experience for the patient. This is achieved through the use of gentle techniques that help put you at ease.
